People usually say there is no difference between Hot yoga and Bikram, so let us now discover what are they in reality.

Hot yoga

Hot yoga – as the name refers to it, is done in a room which is heated. The temperature should be 90-105 degrees of Fahrenheit. There are special poses which are usually instructed by the yoga teacher. This means yogis are practicing the several yoga poses which follow one to another and this helps the body sweat easily.

Bikram Yoga

Let’s start here with the fact that Bikram is the innovator of hot yoga. Bikram Yoga is mostly including 26 exact poses which are being every time. Meaning to say those poses are not being changed with others and omitted. Bikram Yoga also includes 2 breathing exercised which are being practiced two times during the whole one class. The class hour is being changeable, however the most admittable one would be 90 minutes.

Make sure you know these tips before starting the hot yoga

  • Drink water – plenty of water. As you are doing hot yoga and will practice a lot, the possibility of dehydration becomes bigger. That is why we advise you to drink a lot of water, before or after the yoga class. Drinking after the yoga class is more essential, so make sure you have a bottle of water with you.
  • Have your mat with you – Make sure that you have a comfortable mat, because you are going to have a 90 minutes sweating hot yoga and having your own comfort is essential here. If the mat is not comfortable enough you will spend much time and be distracted from your hot practice.
  • You need a proper yoga wearing – Make sure you are also having proper yoga clothes. If you choose the stretchy yoga leggings and tops, this will help you sweat more then, if you are choosing something loose. Besides, the stretchy ones will also be comfortable and won’t disturb you during the practice. So, don’t underestimate the importance of the choice of your yoga clothing.
  • Hot yoga is not that much of a thing for pregnant women – if you are pregnant we wouldn’t advise you to go with the hot yoga. As the hot yoga may rise the temperature of the core body, you should better choose yoga special for pregnant women and practice that one.
  • Hot yoga is comparatively new- comparing to yoga, hot yoga is new and there are many doubts that it can equally damage your body as heal it. This concerns to some exact cases. Meaning to say, if you are having some problems with the exact part of your body, you better check out it with your doctor and see whether you should go with that or not. Only after that start the hot yoga practicing for losing your weight.

Follow these tips and learn as much as possible from your instructor as well. Ask many questions not to miss anything, because you are working with your body and this Is never being a joke. As much as yoga helps and reduces your pain, relaxes your mind and body, you should know it never hurts it as well. So, make sure you are learning and checking everything before going deep into the practices. We wish you best of the luck in your hot yoga practicing and Namaste!
