We have already talked a lot about the styles of yoga and if you are already a yogi, you may have already made your decision with which one you should rather go. Doesn’t matter which yoga style you choose you always will ask yourself whether you should stick to that or change it to something else. So let us now discuss some of the options that you may have.

The benefits of sticking to one single yoga style

Let us imagine that you have chosen your primary yoga goal as losing weight. For this you or your yoga teacher/ instructor would probably write a plan. Meaning to say you will have special yoga poses which you will practice for reaching exact goal. Those yoga poses will be exactly for the goal you are determined to reach, thus sticking to them and practicing them repeatedly would give better results. So, let us now imagine you are changing your yoga style and are practicing different poses with the same purpose. Well, let’s admit it, that won’t work. Instead of going too deep into something you will choose the swallow practicing of each pose, which won’t give you the result you were so much working for.

No exact goal, no obligatory poses

As we continually repeat that you should have an exact goal for practicing yoga, we also repeat that yoga is not about “have to do-s”. Yoga is all about enjoying life and finding balance and well, if you are finding your inner peace by practicing all of the styles of yoga, you are more than welcomed to do so. If you are willing just to reach some balance and relax yourself with the help of yoga, we guess every yoga style would be appropriate here. However, there are still some things to be considered, such as:

  • Your age and body conditions – make sure you are in the body condition that are able to different changes and various poses some of which may be pretty different. Well, age usually won’t have much role in here. The important factor here is mostly your body and its condition.
  • Your graphic and schedules – if you have a special yoga instructor that won’t be a problem you will just let your teacher know that you want to change your style. Your yoga teacher will plan the poses if that style and give it to you. However, if you are practicing yoga alone, changing the style frequently may take time. First of all, you should find yourself which other style you wish to and which are the poses of that style. Second, you should learn whether you can do this or that pose. And third, you should learn how those poses should be done correctly and if you are practicing alone, you will spend a lot of time on that. So, knowing how much time you have for it would be of a great help.
  • Your mood and willingness to changes – and, of course, the most important factor – it is always important how willing you are to change that steady thing in your life. Some people choose having that unchanged, because with many other daily changes and stresses, they prefer having something steady and unchangeable. Imagine, waking up and among the other daily things starting thinking also about the yoga styles and poses. That is why most of the people prefer having it steady for at least some period of time (moths or years. This means, that again depends on you: if you have that time and energy and mood for changing the yoga style, go and just do it if you wish so.

Those are the answers to the question about changing the style of the yoga. We hope they could somehow help you while choosing a one single yoga style or changing them continually. Good luck and Namaste!
