You have probably started your yoga practicing for losing weight or for finding balance or for any other reason that you now thought of. However, if you are now reading this article, let us think that you went deep into it and now are even considering to become a yoga teacher. This Is a great decision, because every yogi practicing yoga, comes to that point when all he/ she wants is sharing. As yoga is all about sharing: sharing love, peace, feelings, positive emotions and each and every other good thing you may now think about. That is why most of the yogis who go deep into it and start practicing even the most difficult poses think at least once about becoming a yoga teacher. Here are some of the things you should do and know before starting your way to teaching.

You need to pass a special yogi training

Most probably you know, that just knowing and perfectly doing all of the possible yoga poses is not enough. For becoming a yoga teacher, you should pass special yoga trainings and get licensed for teaching others. This seems to be difficult, however, if you are really determined to become a teacher, that won’t become an obstacle for you. All you need to do, is attend the trainings and do everything perfectly as you are used to in yoga poses.

Yogi trainings are not the end

If you feel like being a teacher can be really easy, as you are doing your dream job, you can be a little bit mistaken. Well, a LITTLE bit. Becoming a yoga teacher would mean finding a studio where you can give your classes, or find people who would like to have private classes. This is mostly very difficult, if you don’t know anyone in that sphere and no one helps you.

Don’t drop your job immediately

For whatever was said in the previous point we advise you not to drop you job as soon as you get your yoga license. Believe us, sometimes won’t be there for paying too much money for having private classes and sometimes, studios won’t get the ones who are new in that. So, a wise decision would be just not dropping the work, in order to have your stable income. This will take time; however, this will also help you with building yoga career. As you may start with a very low salary as a yoga teacher, the stable job would help you take care of the expenses you will need to do.

Be ready to having no time

Well, most of the people would think that whenever they become a yoga teacher, they will spend all their day practicing yoga. Isn’t that wonderful? However, we are here to say the bitter truth: you won’t have much time for your own practices. Well, at least at the beginning. As you are working for a stable income and teaching yoga during the rest of the hours of day, you probably won’t have much time to come to the mat after all of this. This may seem to be disappointing, however, if you are really into sharing and giving and teaching, you will pass through this as well. After a while, when you sooth your career path in yoga teaching, you will afford yourself spending time with yourself and practice your own yoga.

It will be difficult to practice for yourself

As you will spend your whole time teaching others, sometimes it will be difficult to come to yourself and practice it for your own. Be ready to this as well, be sure you know the ways how you will motivate yourself and not get tired of it.

Those are some things that we advise you to know before starting your yoga teacher career. We hope that you will have it easy and in case of difficulties you will cope with them and come to it very soon. Good luck!
