It is a widely known fact that yoga is not all about physical, but also mental. Many researches have been conducted stating that yoga helps to the concentration and focus. This is amazing for everyone, especially for students having their final exams etc., or people doing a final project, to everyone – it brings great opportunities.

So, how does this actually work? Yoga start with calming your mind down and keeps the thoughts that are distracting you away. When the mind calms down and is not being fluctuated, easier it becomes to get focused one particular thing. And, obviously, yoga has that special poses, which will help you with this even more. So, let’s start practicing them:

  1. Start with the Mountain pose

Starting with the mountain pose is great, because this is the basic pose of yoga – in other words- everything starts from here. This pose helps you relieve the pain, balances breathing, brings calmness to whole your body and mind. The last one being more important here, it makes the yogi more focused and balanced. So, if you want to get concentrated easier, you should definitely start with this pose.

  1. Continue with the tree pose

The tree pose is one of those poses which mainly works on the balance of legs. This is one of those rare poses in yoga which requires your eyes to be opened, though most of the yoga poses need your eyes to be closed. Through this pose you learn how to keep the balance – and usually having one point on which you will stare makes it even easier not to fall. This also helps to develop your concentration, as you mind works on not falling and getting yourself steady on one foot.

  1. Prayer pose is great to go on with

This pose is one of those poses where you don’t need much. In reality it is just you with yourself. All you need to get this pose done is standing straight on your map and bringing your hands to the center of your heart. Start breathing deeply – inhaling and exhaling, while your hands are kept near your heart. This pose helps your shoulders to be relaxed, it gives the body weight to your feet (corners of the feet) and helps your mind to be concentrated only on one thing. You don’t have to keep your balance here, because you are standing on your both feet, all you are doing is looking at one point and getting concentrated at one thing – doesn’t matter that one thing is a problem, project, event, situation.

  1. Eagle pose is amazing for you as well

Eagle pose is another great pose for coming into concentration and become more focused. This pose helps in strengthening your leg muscles, prevents the development of asthma. As the other pose, this one as well, calms your mind down and brings you to one point. Your only goal becomes reaching to the balance – so you do. Being concentrated on one thing helps you develop yourself from that point of view and strengthen your abilities. So, don’t lose time of trying this eagle pose as well.

There are many other yoga poses as well which can help to be more focused and concentrated. Those poses can be: Warrior pose, Crane pose, Dancer pose, camel pose and many more. If you are already a professional yogi, you can go on and add those ones to your list as well. However, if you are just starting yoga practicing and your main goal is development of concentration, the suggested 4 poses are great start. They do not require much of the work or practice, are easy to implement and to start with. Try to do the poses as often as possible (not once in a week) – use even 10 minutes of your day to practice them and they will give a result soon. Namaste!
