There has always been much speculation over the issue of unisex clothes. The history of unisex clothes dates back to feminism and gender equality movements and the sexual revolution.  In approximately 1950s people started to use the term “gender” to identify the gender equality and soon people came to the idea of unisex clothes which broke the fashion industry.  However, because of the result of feminism movement, most of them clothes designed for men were adjusted into the unisex clothes, such as jeans, trousers, suits and other clothes. However, there were also the opposite phenomena, as men started to protest against this advantage in favor of women. Designers started to design the clothes intentionally known for females, also for males, for example skirts or dresses.

Now it is quite difficult to understand which cloth is for men and which is for women. So to make things easier many and many designers have given up designing clothes for one gender or sex. They just designed unisex clothes, so that everyone can use it. Here is the unisex coat. The unisex coats probably are one of the less controversial unisex clothes. At least they are less discussed than men wearing skirts, or women wearing suits.

The thing that we all love about coats is that they save us from freezing cold and at this aspect they are a necessity because we all feel cold whether we are male or female, and therefore it is quite natural that both men and women can wear coats.

One thing which is easier in case of unisex coat is that coat itself is a kind of cloth that covers almost anything, and it looks quite natural.  If a man can fear somehow that wearing a unisex skirt may look ridiculous for some people, and if a woman fears of wearing suit in order not lose the feminine in themselves, the coat is absolutely fine for both and none of them may think about standing out in society.

Most of the unisex clothes are in dark colors, such as brown, black, dark green and different shades of blue. However other colors can also be easily found on shops, such as yellow. Yellow is probably by far the trendiest color in case of rain coats.

Unisex coats are not worn when attending official places or holding business meetings. They are designed more for everyday life, and they allow you to take long walk under the rain. If you think you are going to find a unisex coat for classy look, then that might be really difficult to find. So in that case try to find something designed exactly for your gender.

In case of unisex coats and jackets, the brand called “Rains” is absolutely the dominating one in industry, which is producing coats for in wet weathers. While the brand ”Hilfiger Denim” is more into jeans coats and casual stuff.

SO if you really want to be swag, and to wear unisex clothes, you can briefly choose unisex coats, if you are not risky enough to try other kinds of unisex clothes.
