Most of the women love drinking tea or coffee. Tea or coffee is definitely something that helps us a lot in order to get ready and be properly prepared after sleep. The thing is that many people believe that coffee and tea help us a lot at morning to feel fresh and ready to go to work or to any other place.  That is the reason why today we should discuss whether women who are pregnant should drink tea or coffee or they had better stay away from these drinks. The thing is that if you want to have tea and coffee you should of course chose the tea. However, having the average amount of coffee a day can also be okay if you are pregnant. The only thing is that you should watch out in order not to pass the limits of coffee per day.  Of course if you are a desperate coffee drinker, then of course you should try to cut the amounts of it down. 150-200 mg of caffeine a day is absolutely enough for you and basically that is the limit. If you keep this limit, whether your drink coffee or tea, then everything will be fine and safe.

However if you break the limits of coffee or tea per day then there will be some risk for you as a pregnant woman. First of all there can be a problem of miscarriage. Besides the problem of miscarriage there can also be the problem of low weight for the baby. So once you have your baby, the baby may have low weight. However, if you have it around 200 mg per day, then everything will be fine and there will be no risks.

People think that caffeine is only in the tea or coffee, however, many other drinks contain caffeine as well. The drinks which can include caffeine besides tea and coffee, are of course the instant coffee, filter coffee, the  bar of chocolate, milk chocolate, energy drinks and a number of other drinks as well.

Be careful with the coffees espresso and cappuccino, because the amount of caffeine in them largely varies, and it is very easy to go beyond the limit in case of these coffees.  Many women think that herbal teas do not contain caffeine. In reality, herbal teas also contain caffeine. If you want to find an alternative to the caffeine drink, then you can use water, milk or fruit drinks.

As we already said caffeine can cause your baby have much smaller weight, besides this, caffeine can also increase the heart rate of your baby, may increase the breathing rate and it can also make your baby be awake all the time.

Besides if you have too much caffeine, that may destroy your own health and may cause headaches, difficulty while concentrating, weakness, fatigue and other things as well.

So as you see the large amount of caffeine may really have some negative impact on you and your unborn baby. At the same time, many women think that tea is harmless and they can have as much tea as they want. This is absolutely wrong because tea contains even more caffeine than coffee. That is the reason why you should watch out the amount of tea and coffee you have every day. In fact , many women get upset because they think that they should be deprived of having coffee and tea during pregnancy. This is a very wrong idea because in fact women should even have some coffee. Most of the women get used to having coffee or tea  during the mornings when they wake up. This is a nice tradition for them and they simply love drinking tea or coffee with some sweets. Of course they can do this during pregnancy as well. The thing is that you should just cut the amount down, if you are used to having lots of coffee every day. In this case there will not be any risks neither for you nor for your baby. Just try to set limits and also try skip drinking tea or coffee closer to the sleeping time, because it may destroy the sleep.
