How this happened?

All was well for MH370 until it sent its last ACARS message at 1:07 MYT. The air traffic control made its last contact with the flight at 1:19 MYT. MH370 was expected to resume contact as soon as it crossed Ho Chi Minh City but that never happened. Outside contact means were tried but in vain and again two calls were made to the cockpit at 2:39 MYT and 7:13 MYT; both of which were acknowledged by the satellite unit of the airplane but never answered.

Why this happened?

MH370 was one of the Boeing-777, which happen to be some of the best aircrafts in the industry. It was equipped with state-of-the-art radar system thus its disappearance is a mystery to everyone. Many possible theories have come forward regarding the shocking disappearance of MH370. Power interruption and unresponsive hypoxia are two of the common theories extended.

 When this happened?

Malaysia Airlines flight number MH370 was supposed to fly from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. This particular flight disappeared on March 8, 2014 at 1:20 MYT and as per reports it lost all contact with the air traffic control approximately an hour after its takeoff. It was at 7:24 MYT that this flight was officially announced missing.

Who was responsible for this?

The backgrounds of both crew and the passengers were thoroughly investigated. There were some shady people travelling on the flight but nothing sinister came out after their investigation. The authorities regarded the pilot as their prime suspect. However nothing concrete has been proved yet. The authorities also looked for sabotage as a reason but it was ruled out after nothing came of it.

How many passengers were there?

MH370 was flying a total of 227 passengers belonging to 15 countries and there were 12 crew members on board. More than half of the passengers travelling on MH370 were Chinese. Around 38 passengers hailed from Malaysia and the rest of them belonged to thirteen different countries namely India, France, United States, Hong Kong and Australia.

Where is Black Box?

A black box refers to the flight data recorder and the cockpit voice recorder that is fitted in every corporate jet and commercial airplane. The black box of MH370 is yet to be traced. The experts’ state that it is only after the black box of MH370 is found that the people will know what exactly took place with the plane. An extensive search was carried out in the Indian Ocean as that is where the last probable signals of the black box were traced.

What Malaysian Government did?

The Malaysian government had to face a lot of criticism by the hands of its rivals and the families of the people onboard. The facts state that the government authorities began their search after four hours of the official missing time of MH370. The Malaysian government committed many screw-ups in the process of searching the missing plane. The government was also accused of keeping the real information from the people and releasing it only in tits and bits.
