The traditional Vedic astrology is actually called Jyotisha , Hindu, Indian astrology or Vedic astrology as one can guess. Vedic or Hindu astrology is divided into three main branches and aspects: Indian astronomy, predictive astrology and Mundane astrology. Indian is to predict the future, to reveal our character and to help to find out which are the most compatible signs.
Vedic astrology usually uses the fixed zodiac. So, in the Vedic or Hindu horoscope or zodiac system you most often will no longer be the same star signs you thought you were although there are very rare exceptions.
MAYAN ASTROLOGY
Mayan version of astrology is based on the Mayan calendar, that is the day schedule and is known to be one of the most realistic and straight-thinking type of astrology. The Mayan calendar or how it is often regarded as, Tzolkin, is based on the energy of cosmic spirits, that is the stars. The Tzolkin calendar consists of signs of twenty days which are known as solar tribes and of thirteen Galactic numbers that form a 260-day calendar a year. The Mayans believed that for having a good life one should match yourself with the universal energy. Each of these twenty signs stand for a day in a Mayan calendar, so that it allows individuals of different months and years to share the same day sign. One’s Mayan day sign defines his/her personality.
Despite these types of astrology, we mainly concentrated in traditional type of astronomy and represented the most popular one. We will not represent the character of each sign separately, because too much information can be found about it. However, we will represent the compatibility between them.
