The Oscars 2020 was witnessed by South Korea at glance. The 92nd Oscar Awards were organized in Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, California. It was indeed a star-studded night to watch out for. The awards were presented in 24 different categories on 9th February.
The show was started with a thrilling performance by Janelle Monáe and Billy Porter. Brad Pitt receiving the Oscar award for his supporting role in the movie -“once upon a time in …..Hollywood” and other entertaining performances as part of the show.
The show revealed the surprise performance by Rapper Eminem to welcome the audience at the 92nd Oscar Awards night. The audience applauded him for his performance. Many celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Grammy winner, Gal Gadot, Anthony Ramos and Billie Ellish applauded him with a standing ovation.

Interesting facts about Oscars 2020
According to the US broadcaster, approximately 23.6 million viewers turned up for the awards ceremony. The ratings declined as compared to last year’s ratings where 29.5 million watched the show. Interestingly, this year also the show had no host and celebrity duos, Steve Martin & Chris Rock; Timothee Chalamet & Natalie Portman presented the awards.
There was joy among the South Korean audience when Parasite director – Bong Joon-ho presented half his acceptance speech in the South Korean.
Oscars, the huge red carpet event has many interesting facts related to it. It is not just about the nominations and the awards but also about the efforts taken to install the red carpet. It takes more than 900 hours to install. It alone costs more than 24,000 dollars.
Total costs to organize Oscars award ceremony is $44M and the cost of each Oscar statuette (twenty four karat gold plated) is worth $400. The cost towards streaming one movie for the voters is around $12,500. Also, there was no dress code requested for attendees for Oscars 2020.
The introduction of goodie bags in Oscars 2020 comprised of series of freebies for nominees from the leading categories. Also, Oscars 2020 continued for little longer than 2019 Oscars. It took 215 minutes as compared to 203 minutes. Audience certainly, felt the absence of a host most of the times when one person was introduced to the other. Then there was no one who would introduce yet another person to come on the stage.
Audience certainly missed on the jokes that the host would crack about a particular movie and add humour to the show. Certainly, the show needs a host and also other structured elements in the show that would make the show even more entertaining. It is a much awaited red carpet show that helps audience choose their favorite movies and stars.
