I am sure you do not know much about Norwegian cuisine just because it is not so famous.  Norway is a Scandinavian country and the coldness of it may be somehow reflected in cuisine also. Having many ports and seashores it is obvious that one can find lots of seafood in Norway. Therefore, the Norwegian cuisine is full of fish and seafood. Today we are going to discuss a dish made with salmon and sauce. It is a brilliant example of typical Scandinavian dish and it will provide you with enough energy to be able to survive in cold and freezing Scandinavian Norway.

Here are the ingredients we need to make the Norwegian salmon.

The very first thing to do is to go to market and choose fresh salmon meat.

We need to have

4 fresh fillets of salmon fish

4 cups of wine (the white one)

Ground pepper (fresh)

1 tablespoon of onion, minced beforehand

¼ cup of sour cream

2 tablespoon of heavy cream

Dijon mustard of ¼ cup

2 tablespoons of honey

3 tablespoon of fresh dill, must be finely minced

The juice of 1 lemon

3 tablespoon of capers

After you have found all the ingredients, it is the time to take up the making process.

First preheat the oven up to 400 degrees. Then we have to place the salmon fish fillets into the baking sheet and pour the fillets with white wine and add the ground pepper and minced garlic on the fillets.

You have to be careful while baking the fish, because it is very easy to overcook it. So keep the salmon in the oven for just 15 or 20 minutes. While it is baking you have to add more and more wine every 5 minutes.

Take a small bowl and add sour cream there. Put it into very law heat and add the honey, fresh dill, the juice of 1 lemon and the Dijon mustard. You have to stir the sauce so much until everything comes together and the sauce gets warm.

After you have made the sauce, take the salmons out of the oven by making sure also that they are neither undercooked and row not overcooked. After the fish is fine, add the sauce on the top of it and add capers on it. The Norwegian fish is ready.

As you can see from the very first look it may seem very difficult to make but it is not that much difficult and actually is quite easy. The timing is almost 1 hour. The only thing is that you must be careful with the fish baking in order not to harm it. The nutrition is high, because fish is a product that contains lots of vitamins, and other important staff for our organism.  This dish gives you the energy you need to have to survive the cold in Norway.

Though the Norwegian cuisine is full of such dishes, Norwegians usually do not cook them so much, as  they do not have the time to do that. Anyway if you are interested in Norwegian culture, then you must try dish made with salmon fillets. It can remind you of Swedish cuisine also.

Enjoy your Norwegian salmon dish and bring the Norwegian vibes into your kitchen.
