The features & tariff shared seems to backing his claim, if not at present then surely in the days to come.
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) introduced Reliance JIO SIM few months ago along with the 4G supported economical LYF smartphones, which garnered very good response for the free data during the trial period. As per Mr. Mukesh Ambani, Jio is an entire eco-system that will allow Indians to live digital life to the fullest and it will be the largest 4G LTE network in the globe with the aim to move India from data shortage to data abundant users. Reliance JIO is also said to be ready for the future upgrades to 5G/6G.
When today morning the official tariff and service details of Reliance JIO’s 4G LTE network were announce it might have brought the sign of worry for the other telecom operators in the market. The internet data services have been major source of income and market valuation for the telecom companies and due to the significant rise in smartphone culture in country the mobile internet services witnessed an enormous growth in last few years. With increasing demand of high speed internet service, 3G and now 4G service plans are stars of the telecom market. All telecom companies have cashed on this huge demand with their ever expensive 3G/4G or even 2G tariffs with below average and committed service speeds.
Now this announcement by Reliance JIO to offer the high speed internet at the extremely lower tariff plans will surely lure the internet addict consumer base, especially when other player have failed to provide good services and reasonable price. The price offered by JIO will be Rs 50 for one GB data, with free calling, which means the users will be paying for only data and calls and messages will be free of cost and apparently the data charges will come down with the higher data usage. (Please note that the smaller data packs might be costlier than the above stated rates, refer the whole tariff packages for details).
This super exciting welcome offer from reliance JIO comes up with entire services like voice, apps, 4G services all free till 31st December 2016. Few other major highlights include free voice calling, free domestic roaming, 4G supported smartphones starting from Rs 2,999 under its smartphone brand LYF, free additional data for students.
Markets will surely see the rate slash in the services very soon. This move by Reliance will force the infrastructure ramp up needs as well for the whole telecom industry. The biggest challenge for all the players including JIO will be building up the hassle free efficient network to offer the promised services to its subscriber. The next spectrum auction will become very crucial for the service level base and network infrastructure for the service providers.
