It is not a secret that we love Spanish cuisine as it is as we already described it, is hot, weird, spicy and at the same unique, and completely expresses the stunning Spanish culture and the vibes of it. Today we will be making another stunning and beautiful dish from Spanish cuisine known as Spanish chicken tortilla. The dish is spicy and represents the whole Spain in one dish. It is just amazing how you can taste a culture with food.  

As you known the Spanish cuisine is full of spaces, meat and vegetables, so the dish we will be making tonight, is not an exception. So let’s start. 

The ingredients for Spanish chicken tortilla are:

Chicken breast, 1.5 Ibs boneless

1 can of diced tomatoes

Cream cheese, softened beforehand

1 up of shredded cheddar or Monterey cheese

1 clove garlic

3 teaspoons of ancho chili powder

1 teaspoon of cumin

½ teaspoon of garlic salt

¼ cups of cilantro

½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper

6 scaliions, just the white and green parts

6-8 of large flour tortillas

The making

First of all you have to start with the chicken meat. So season it with salt, part of the cumin you have and 1 tablespoon of chili powder. Add the chicken to a skillet and add 1 cup of water. Cover and cook under the medium heat until it is properly cooked. Add more water if necessary. When the chicken is cooked, cool it off and shred with forks. 

Take a mixing bowl, add the cream cheese, drained tomatoes, cheese, the remained spices, garlic, cilantro and also the scallions. Mix together so as all the ingredients will come together. Then add the chicken and stir together. 

Take the tortillas, lay them out and divide the mixture in the middle of tortillas. Roll each other slightly by leaving the edges free. Use a sharp knife to cut into thick slices and transfer it to place. 

As you can see the dish may sound to be very difficult and complicated to make. However, in reality it is quite easy to make this dish. When it comes to timing then we would say it takes about 2 hours to make it, as the breasts need to be cooked in the most proper way, and you must be sure they are not raw inside. When it comes to nutrition then the level of nutrition is quite high. The best thing about the dish is that the chicken meat proved you with protein but at the same time it is super light, easy and lacks extra fats. 

This a perfect dish for dinner, lunch and supper. You can feel the whole Spanish vibes and cultural atmosphere in this stunning dish. I t is also easy to carry with you, so you can go for picnic having made this roll-ups.
