Donald Trump stands up for the baby Charlie Gard on twitter saying that if we can help we should help. The thing is that actually Charlie Gand is a newly born baby who is terminally ill and has some brain problem. Charlie is coming from Europe, born to English parents he was put into the Gosh hospital in London. The situation, however, is really complicated because the parents of baby Gard have been told that the baby will die on Friday. Their final wish was to take the baby home in order to spend the last days with him at home but the hospital did not let them do it, which as parents say, let them down. Of course it is the parents’ wish to take the baby home but at the same time the situation is really complicated and difficult. The baby has been all this time in the hospital while parents were having legal issues with hospital and there was a case discussing the issue. Overall the parents lost the case and the doctors told that the treatment was actually experimental and that the treatment will not help. The baby is suffering from a genetic condition which is very rare alongside with a brain damage. The parents who are in their thirties have also tried to get some money in order to take the baby to US for treatment. People made campaigns on social media and in general they raised over 1,3 million pound sterling which is enough to take the baby for treatment.
Donald Trump is not the only one who raised up for the baby and his parents. Pope Francis also made a statement before the Donald Trump did in favor of parents. Pope Francis made a saying telling that he hopes that the wish of parents to treat the baby and be with him till the last day will not be neglected.
The case of baby Charlie is much more complicated than some can imagine. When you go deeper into the issue you understand that even people like Donald Trump have got some feelings and are willing to help each other. It shows how people still kind of care about each other. At the same time you can see how feelings cannot take over the legal issues and sometimes legal issues are hard on people. Legislation and all of these legal issues were made to make people feel better, more secure and comfortable in the area that they live in, but this case shows how the parents should follow some rules and norms which actually do not benefit them. The only thing they want is to spend time with their baby the way they want and the hospital does not letting this, is being too hard on parents who have already been suffering much. At the same time parents should also try to understand that the hospital thinks the baby will be under more control in the hospital.
