We just adore Polish cuisine. It makes you feel as if you are at grandmother’s place. It is simple and tasty. It is so tasty, and makes you feel full. It is absolutely one of our favorite ones. There is no luxury feeling just homey and cozy. We made the Polish soup together and now it is the right time to include the cheese and potato pierogi in your cook book. To give you a light idea what pierogi is, you need to take a look at dumpling. It is not dumpling, because it has a kind of different look, but it is made of dough and the filling.

So what are the ingredients for the pierogi ?

The ingredients. 

2 cups of flour

2 eggs

5 tablespoon of water

1 tablespoon of vegetable

½ tablespoon of salt

The filling

For the feeling we need to have

1/3 cup of caramelized onion in 2 tablespoon of butter

3 potatoes

1/3 cup of shredded cheddar

1/3 cup of farmer’s cheese

Salt

Pepper

4 tablespoon of butter or oil for frying pierogies

The making

To make these incredible pierogies we firstly have to boil and skin the potatoes then mash with cheese and onion. Add some salt and pepper and then cover and place it to refrigerator until it is cooled off. Once it is cool, take it out of refrigerator and go on.

It is the time to make the dough. So take a big bowl, add the flour, salt, eggs, the vegetable oil and the water. Then mix everything with either electric mixer or by hands. The dough should be elastic. 

Then cut a piece of dough, knead it and make a layer. Add tablespoon of filling on it, and bring the edges of the dough together, just like you do it in case of making dumpling. Then repeat the same process to all of the dough and filling, and place them on pan. Add oil or butter on pan and start frying them. When you feel that the dough is of nice red or brown color turn it over on the other side and fry that side. When you fried all of the piergies it is time to enjoy them

The piergies are much tastier when they are warm than when they are cooled off. 

Hugely you like the Polish cheese and potato pierogis. 

The making process is not so difficult, however it is not so easy as well. So we should say it is of middle difficulty.  When it comes to timing, then you will need probably 1 hour and a half to make this dish. The nutrition is also high, because of cheese and potato, and actually pierogis make you feel full very early. 

You can serve them with sour cream.
