British food is known to be a conservative one, like British people as a rule. It is full of meat, sausages and is usually quite heavy. Why do British people have really big portions? Usually British have big breakfast and then they may not be eating much during the whole day. That is the reason why they think that having breakfast is very important and that breakfast must be rich.

Not many of us imagine but British food is really good and the cuisine is delicate. It is not the French cuisine, but it is full of beautiful dessert and appetizers. Today we are going to introduce you a dish, which is not typical British, but it is actually British, and you can see the combination of British conservatism and delicateness.

The Garlic Cheddar biscuits, you should definitely try them if you are interested in British food. It is light and super tasty. All you need to make this amazing appetizer are listed below.

2 cups of buttermilk mix of biscuit

1 cup cheddar cheese, grated

2 tablespoon of garlic powder

2 or 3 cup of milk

Approximately 2 tablespoon of melted butter

Dried oregano of 2 tablespoon

1/2 tablespoon of garlic salt, but if you cannot find it, then use sea salt

 

For preparing this fabulous appetizer you need to firstly preheat the oven to about 400 degrees and then prepare the baking sheet and the spray of cooking.

For the next step you should take a big bowl and add biscuit mix. Then you have to add the garlic powder and cheese and mix everything together, so that the ingredients come together.  Then add milk and stir well until it is well mixed.  The dough must be really sticky.

Then you take a small beat of the dough, shape it into a biscuit size, make it a clump and repeat the same action for the rest of the dough.  Put them all into the biscuit sheet.

Then it is the right time to bake.  You have to bake them from 10-15 minutes, until the biscuits turn red. Be careful in order not to overheat.

While the biscuits are in the baking process, take the melted butter and mix with dried oregano and garlic salt. Once you take the biscuits out of oven, immediately slice the surface with the butter mixture until all the surface is covered with it. Your biscuits are ready.

Usually they are served warm, because warm biscuits are much tastier. However, you can eat them cooled off also.

As you can guess the making process is not difficult at all, the only thing is that you have to be careful in order not to overheat the biscuits. The rest of the actions are quite easy. The timing is also not so long. It will take about 40 minutes to make them. The nutrition is also not very high, it is kind of a light dish and can be regarded as appetizer. You can have them for supper and also for breakfast. It is easy to take to workplace and eat during the breaks.
